Castings
For complex shapes, which may be too expensive or impractical to fabricate, or where there is sufficient repetition of details, steel castings may be an appropriate solution.

Often geometrically complex forms and multi-connection nodes can be elegantly resolved using a single casting. These shapes can be made to very fine tolerances, combining structural necessity with architectural refinement.
The costs of developing a casting through pattern making, finishing and testing is significant compared with the cost of the raw material itself. However it if can be repeated many times, unit costs decrease and there is economy of mass production.
