Confidex Sustain

Tata Steel Panels & Profiles is now offering the world's first CarbonNeutral building - with the widest product range available - via Confidex Sustain®. This exciting development means that our environmentally-conscious clients can meet their green commitments whilst retaining total design choice and flexibility across both composite and built up systems.

Confidex Sustain®, created by Tata Steel Colors, measures the unavoidable CO2 emissions from the pre-finished steel, cladding system, from cradle to cradle, including insulation and fixings and offsets the associated impact. More than just offsetting, the aim is to encourage specification of the most sustainable pre-finished steel products and cladding systems.

This means that, in collaboration with The CarbonNeutral Company, we will offset every 1kg of CO2 emitted in climate friendly projects overseas. All of the projects we invest in will have both social and environmental benefits. They range from replacing kerosene lamps with solar panels for communities in India, to investment in renewable energy sources such as wind turbines, and sequestration projects that soak up or remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Of course, a commitment to the environment is nothing new to Tata Steel. We have a demonstrable track record in sustainability that goes beyond mere compliance. Add to this The CarbonNeutral Company’s (TCNC) robust and fully auditable processes to neutralise unavoidable emissions, and you know that Confidex Sustain® is a solution you can rely on. TCNC also commissions an independent verification of CarbonNeutral programmes to further underpin their carbon promise.

Our unique and integrated Tata Steel supply chain delivers a fully traceable and technically robust solution, which allows us to offer the widest range of systems currently available with Confidex Sustain®. All of our key systems - Trisomet roof and walls; Trimapanel; Trinsul; Standard Built Up Roof and Wall - have each been assessed and are available with Confidex Sustain®, providing that they are specified with Colorcoat HPS200® Ultra and/or Colorcoat Prisma®.

Each system has a full environmental profile to verify composition and carbon emissions. This information is published in an environmental product declaration statement and provides the basis for Tata Steel to reduce to zero carbon dioxide emissions.
