Getting these goods delivered on time sits at the heart of the business so when it came to constructing a new Recycling Facility in Widnes, the project was very much on the clock.

The project itself involves the construction of a 32,515 sq m (415,000 sq ft) chilled distribution warehouse and a 12,449 sq m (134,000 sq ft) recycling facility that includes an equipment washing unit, offices and welfare area. The recycling facility will enable Eddie Sobart to save water consumption at the site, which will have the added benefit of considerable cost savings. As such, it plays an important role in the logistical supply chain process and Eddie Stobart set a build programme of 7 months.

To facilitate the quick build time, Corus Panels and Profiles specified 12,000m2 of Trisomet® 333 System panels - its advanced insulated panel system – and 6000 m2 of 120 mm mineral wool panels for the recycling facility in Widnes.

The Corus Trisomet® 333 System comprises of a Colorcoat HPS200 Ultra® pre-finished steel outer skin, PIR insulation and a bright white internal lining providing enhanced environmental benefits together with LPC approval. The one-component system provided an attractive fast track, single fix and thermally efficient solution for the building.

The Trisomet® 333 System was specified for the development as key to the successful delivery of the project was the need to ensure the construction programme was achieved. The Trisomet® 333 System is ideally suited to fast track projects as the insulated panel system is manufactured under factory controlled conditions which enables the speed of construction to be increased, allowing the project to be completed within the required timescales, bringing overall savings in terms of cost and time.
